Adapted from true events On The Verge is a story about isolation and survival. Leaving his mistress’s bed to travel home to his wife and family, Dan crashes his delivery van.

Trapped and isolated in thick woodland, just yards from a busy road, panic sets in as he realizes that there is no escape and no-one around to help. Injured and demoralized, he must pull himself together.

The practical details of survival become his lifeline, inventiveness and ingenuity the means by which he guards his hope.

However, with birdsong his only solace and time his constant nemesis, Dan is inevitably confronted by the severity of his isolation. The question is not whether he will live or die but in what sense he is living and indeed has lived.
